An Equation of Time? by John SmithIf I take the new
and subtract the old
If I take the pendant
and subtract the gold
If I take the sweet strum
and subtract the hand
Am I left with an hour glass
minus the sand?
Perhaps what is
is more what's not
Perhaps the lore
is not best forgot
Perhaps the mind
is more free to think
If the minds eye
is given a moment to blink
Now and fast
and more and advanced
Could that be considered
the step less the dance?
Hear me
I'm not prophetic of gray
I'm not jaded so harshly
as to throw logic away
I'm simply suggesting
that old paths weren't stray. 07/08/2010 Posted on 07/09/2010 Copyright © 2024 John Smith
