Memories I Walked Away From by Christopher ShinGrab the cups
little the
glimmering crimson
flicker in
each droplet.
I remember when
youth held so
many codes of
grace.
Yet you loved another,
and I was youthful drunk.
I drank the nectar
of our ambtions.
And the hearts you
wanted out of
my chest was still
holding onto the strings
of the past.
Was it your fault?
No, it was the memories
of me.
So you left me with
those who would
make you blush in shame.
And I am alone with
glasses and songs.
Lyrics of tragedy,
and I drink my red with
anger. 07/06/2010 Posted on 07/06/2010 Copyright © 2024 Christopher Shin

Posted by Erin Eymard on 07/06/10 at 07:35 PM Christopher very well written. I think the sixth stanza really just seemed to hit me in the gut as I felt your emotions coming to a head. Very enjoyable. |
