Serene

by Jeffrey Parren

The trick to
most human interaction
is to seem serene.

Whether or not
the mind is frantically
wandering through
this thought or that
or perhaps is lost
in one of life's developments

the exterior must appear tranquil
or all worth is lost
until the expected
next occurrence
where you prove
the doubters right again.

...jeff, you're after something here and you reached it in a few verses...West Side Story had this Jett guy named Action--he was always "ready" and yet is told: 'easy Action'...i think of him/you/me/whomever...easy, easy...that way they're fooled, eh?

Never let them see they are getting to you...a difficult and time-consuming trick to master -but a most worthwhile one -for your sake as well as anyone else in the vicinity, literally and metaphorically.
