Ebb and Flow by Jeffrey ParrenThis life and this struggle
this ebb and flow
of the triumphs
and of the tragedies
are so keenly portrayed
on tv and
in the movies
that sometimes
the actuality of pain
is absent.
You see the pain
you empathize
with the characters
but the feeling
is lost until
the next frames
grace the screen.
The pain lingers
longer than the ecstasy.
This movie of life
ebbs more than it flows
it
flows
more than it ebbs.
Not everyone
gets their fair share
while others get
what's not deserved upon them.
Life is not a movie.
I am not that person on the screen. 06/24/2010 Posted on 06/24/2010 Copyright © 2025 Jeffrey Parren
