Sunset at 10,000 ft. by Madeline LambHere the span of things
is before me,
rocks in my shoes,
dirt as my shoes.
God lived in lightning,
And now Pele
is burning flowers,
hot hot rot.
This time last year,
Genesian view from 3w2-
the parking lot, Dolly.
Dolly is a cloud now,
& each starry headlight
fluoresces towards Kona
as I, ever-enduring,
invincible,
scrape my knees towards Bethlehem.
06/21/2010 Author's Note: I hiked up a cinder cone by Mauna Kea Observatory and watched the sun set.
