Depression by Theresa MarinelliSinking deep in an ocean of black
Familiar visages become slates of gray
Time and space lose place
There is no night or day
Heavy steps in an endless quagmire of midnight blue persuasion
Guide deadened souls in lockstep - propelled toward evasion
Anger and Joy on ice - lay in wait
Desperation and lethargy control one's state
So distant and unreal
is freedom from one's woes
The melancholy feelings are all one ever knows
Way down deep in dark recesses - where loneliness reigns
In the kingdome of hopelessness, sorrow and pain. 06/11/2010 Author's Note: I corrected the spelling of one word - visages.

| Posted by Joe David on 06/11/10 at 02:45 PM so dark and so right on. as the saying goes "you've been reading my mail". you nailed it. I feel the listlessness, the lethargy, the disconnectedness, sitting with that 1000 yard stare, not wanting to be bothered by anyone about anything, feeling empty and alone. The first word - sinking- is well chosen. |
