silvery-gray-sharp–razored-ribbons by Jared OrlandoSilvery-gray-sharp–razored-ribbons
Flowing dangerously down, down
Teasing the wind they wisp about
Like vipers chasing a vulnerable child
Flitting above tattered rooftops
Shimmering twisting slivers of light
Taking to the skies creating their own
Beams of radiant perilous luminosity
Weaving in and out of crowded markets
Nipping the shoulders in its path
Leaving confusion in congested alleys
Bewilderment in tiny suburban cavities
Now silvery-gray-sharp-razored-ribbons
With new coats of dripping crimson red
Dashing to new corners of urban cities
Smashing windows in its wake, slicing
Curtain after curtain, twisting through
Empty rooms of shut down motels
Cutting through the thickness of the silence
Causing disarray without a second's notice,
Paper cut-like incisions when looking away
What could this be, so sleek a terrorist plot
As if the hate of the gods chiseled out
Weapons that attack the defenseless
Tickling us enough to wake us
Into believing we are still alive.
