The current that once
flowed through my heart
blew a fuze some time ago

and what's left
the smoldering shell
of the emotional being
I used to be.

Sensitivity
used to set me apart
was used against me
and now it sets me back.

Healing
will be far overdue
whenever it happens.

The current
will be strong again.
