The overcast sky
promised rain later
but for brief moments
the sun swam on my neck
on this Bryant Park lunch break.

People flooded the park
where
suits met dresses
flip flops met shoes
day off met lunch break.

The air was heavy
but the day was elegant
with trees greener
than one could recall.

I sat here
writing this
thinking of more days
like this.
