Pour Out My Heart

by Curtis Sethaler

I think I had a few too many
Because I told you how I felt.

I spilled my guts,
And flooded the foot hills,
With those dammed up feelings,
Those I’ll never says
And she’ll never sees.

The pilgrims were buried waist deep,
In my murky flood of love,
And contradiction.
They couldn't understand.

My unwavering devotion,
Had destroyed their livelihood.
And I was there with you,
My heart spewed out,
Its last drops of reason,
Penned out on paper,
And my words,
Were floating through the air,

I
Myself
Was open and broken,
Awaiting a nod
Or
Any acknowledgement,
That you,
Had heard Me
Or had read,

My Heartfelt rant,
The substance of my being
It all lied with you,
And
What you were about to say,

Your lips were moving, speaking words,
But I was too drunk to hear……….
