Home Again by Jeffrey ParrenThis place where I sleep
is not what I call home.
The only home
I remember vividly
now is home
to someone else
and his family.
Even after a while away
there was something
so familiar about it.
Even when I grew
and everything
became easier to reach
and felt smaller in general
it was still
home.
So now I reside
in an apartment
I rent.
Maybe that's the difference:
a home you buy
a place to just sleep
is what you rent.
I want a home again. 06/03/2010 Posted on 06/03/2010 Copyright © 2025 Jeffrey Parren
