Jim Joyce by Jeffrey ParrenIn a world full
of epic fails
where most
involve stubbing your toe
on the coffee table
or running into something
some guys just aim higher.
In a game
where instant replay
is in its infancy
Jim Joyce
just touched
the burning stove
and helped baseball find merit
for outright instant replay.
Your toe may throb
and ego may be bruised
in the seclusion
of your own house
but Jim Joyce
has to watch
his error
on a JumboTron
and on ESPN
for years to come.
Perfect game, no more. 06/03/2010 Posted on 06/03/2010 Copyright © 2025 Jeffrey Parren

| Posted by Charlie Morgan on 06/05/10 at 11:10 PM ...yeaaaah, you caught a moment in/of/about the play...wheesh! i was so honked-off because baseball is SUPPOSED/BRAGGED TO BE a pure game, b.s. ... when a player is called out and he never got tagged, well pure my arse...and tawk about a play begging for a re-play shhhheeeesh! and a teary-eyed next day apology just doesn't hack it...how you stayed clear of anger i really touche you on that one, s'pose i'm too country. great words on a hard to talk about subject. |
