Escape the Thoughts. by Chloe SandersSitting in the cold
Ice flecks on my toes
They relate the numbness of my inside
To the outside
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
When left alone, and allowed to think
Those thoughts make me cry
So I try my hardest to evade
To erase
To forget
Watch a movie
Read a book
Listen to music
These things allow an escape
Oh Contrary
How so very temporary
Finally they catch up to me
The only things that can make me beg
Make me plead
The thoughts relent
I stand and forget the time spent
In the snow
In the cold
And I return to the warm house
And wipe the tear stains from my cheeks
No longer having to think
Thankfully Freed from my thoughts once more
