Simple

by Jared Orlando

Sometimes I think of a
Simple Life
A movie without
Sound Effects
And a home
Without Frills.
I think of replacing the
Faux Finishes
With
Eggshell Whites
And walking on
Tree Branches
And
Leaves.
Being a simple
Post Office Clerk
All
Uniform and Steady.
Or
Settling Down
Inside of a
Stable World
Where color is dulled to
Avoid Distraction.
And these are things I
Think about, when my
Far-From-Simple
Life slows for a
Second's Breath
Causing me to
Simply Think
Of the impossible nature of a
"Lite" Version
Of a speeding
Railway Car.

I like this Jared. Life can be as simple as we would like to be. It just wouldn't have any reality to it. But that's OK since most of us don't really understand the complexities any way.
