there are rules for people like us
keep your nose clean, and
your head above water.
Don't bite the hand that feeds you
even though it looks like shit
it's what you get
because it's what they give.

We are in a stupor
rat-racing our way to death
way too fast to realize the trip
is not self induced.

Small pawns in the great democratic experience
to see just how many eyes you can cover
with one piece of wool.

We
Run.

because we're late
and if we finish first, we
get extra scraps.
