As I am closing my eyes, I see you,
when I open them at last, you are gone.
I dream of you each night, as I must do,
to wake to your beauty, then I'm alone.
I have had but only one dream as of late,
waking next to you my sweet, in morning.
Over again I dream, as if some fate
giving me a sign, some form of warning.
I close my eyes, once again to slumber
now drawing the night to me in its guise.
My mind is fraught with all kinds of wonder
leaving me sleepless. none the less the wise.
In the closing of my eyes, you I see,
such beauty, sweetness, as it should be.
