Restoration of Reality by Kristen HeylTempting words whispered
in the heat of the moment.
Falsely ringing words
once climax has been reached
and presence of mind restored.
Clothes hurriedly put on and out the door he goes,
with a bye and quick peck of the cheek.
Tears fall from her eyes soon after
wishing yet again she had the strength
to stop this cycle of pain,
yet each time the question is asked
her hormones respond instead of her heart.
Her love for him is one that will always burn
yet with time it changes allowing her to look
upon what they had with a new perspective
and realize nothing will ever be again
how it was in the past.
The "love" of which he speaks to her about
is egocentrical in natureā¦to get him what he wants
when he wants it and only then does he "love" her.
Acceptance of this "love" was fine during those times
when she fooled herself into thinking it was all she needed
and yet again time has shown her the true path upon which she
must travel in order to fulfill her destiny of love, happiness, and
honesty.
