Double Ferris Wheel

by David Hill

High in a July night,
the top wheel in spin,
throwing our weight
and rocking the seat,
our heads held back,
laughing and wailing,
Ba Barbara Ann,
to a heaven of stars,
the white wedge moon,
and all of Levittown.

Pane hacks and spits,
casts his fate to the wind,
his little comet arcs and
whips its white foam tail
toward riders boarded below.
Then the pendulum swings,
my stomach drops and
my mouth goes “Ohhhhh”
and dooowwwwnnnnward I go
through light, sound, and wind
that something we seek,

that something orgasmic…

Weirdly lyrical and incredibly fascinating throughout. Nicely done.

Yes, it is a fine write and the second one it seems to me that I've seen somewhere about a ferris wheel. Carnivals must be on the move toward summer.
