Magnetic Tug of War by Kristen Heylpull-pull-pull-pulling.
tug of war
watch out for the pit of mud!
splat! yep, fell face first again.
Torture myself time and time again.
Coming up against that brick wall
each time thinking I can scale it
and each time just falling down the smooth surface.
Walk away with a few bruises and scrapes
and one considerable gash across the most vulnerable
part of my body.
Smile never leaves my face for I vow
I am going to walk away and never return.
HA! if only that were true.
I disilluion myself for a while
only to be drawn like a magnet
right back to the tug of war
and the wall of heartache.
