Thought what we once had together
meant something to you
but apparently I played the fool.

All you are looking for
is someone to satisfy
your call for carnal pleasure.

I was thinking about becoming that person
until I really thought it over
and realized that isn't the life for me.

I need someone who I can care about
and who will care about me
not just care about my body
for the pleasures it can bring.

You might want to start lookng
for a barbie doll
or someone who isn't sure
what it is like to really care about another person.

I envy you in a way
for being free enough of spirit
to distance yourself
and "fool around" with others
instead of having the valuable,caring, honest
and open relationship two adults can share.

On the other hand I believe
that you are using this "fooling around"
as a way to conceal your fear of rejection
as well as to keep you at a disatance
so you can't get hurt.

These shallow one-nighters
are going to be the destruction of your life
for the loneliness will start to set in soon and
you won't have anywhere to turn.

I won't be able to fill that lonely spot
when it decides to torment you
for I have given you the chance
to prove that you have
become more mature and
capable of handling things at a new level
but you chose to take the road
well worn and traveled by your peers.

Your reluctance to travel
the overgrown path and commit to a relationship
leads me to believe you have many more paths
to travel before you find the mystic road to maturity.
