monstro by Frankie SanchezWe stain our shirts with oil
spills
and we ash our cigarettes
into the mouths of blue whales
and pretend that we don't choke
when we say,
"The world is our oyster."
We should pry her, unwillingly
open
and utilize every ounce of her
resources
to better ourselves.
There's always somebody, willing
and ready
to cross the line.
Teach a man to fish
and he'll learn to kill dolphins.
We aren't the painters or the paintings,
we're the products
used
to get
the job
done. 05/09/2010 Author's Note: we paint with watercolors & oil rigs

| Posted by Steven Kenworthy on 05/16/10 at 08:57 PM i like this because it's well-written and i'm a whale loving hippy. :P a lot of profound truth in a short piece as well...something more people should read/care about in my opinion. i always make fun of mayonnaise eaters and let them know they're eating the backfat scraped off a whale. perfect title too. perfetto. |
