Relief by Anita MacI sleep bare & barren
on sheets we never laid to rest.
This is a bed we never made together,
only ravaged & rearranged repeatedly.
As it should be,
I Knew.
I Knew,
but you know the Heart
(& all its clichés).
This ended before it began;
closure is over-rated
(& misunderstood).

Posted by Julie Adams on 04/25/10 at 03:30 PM I love this poem, what a slice of life indeed...how it exhales, how it accepts, how it tells as much as it doesn't...I love each line, each break, each image...well crafted and delivered...a pleasure, peace, jewels xo |

Posted by Steven Kenworthy on 04/27/10 at 12:43 AM i am too exhausted to say anything more than this is gritty...tough love, hard to swallow and a punch in the pretty face. i like it. |
