Topic: Soften by Aaron Michaelword can cut
so we blur
the edges soften
dulling the slice
of forked tongues.
gratitude is less
than enough thanks
for the little
almost insignificant deviation
from the real.
words can cut
and i just
want them out
and whirlwind blades
make you ribbons.
now naked, bloody
salty tears sting
the lacerated ego.
you cut back.
soon we're both
reduced to dust.

Posted by Trisha De Gracia on 04/15/10 at 06:16 PM What an interesting take! I love it. To me it reads like two people who dive into the physicality of their relationship to "soften" the things that come out when they argue. But then the words do slip out and you see the mess that's been made. Whether or not that was your intent, I like it alot. Post some new topics :) |
