Unhappily Ever After

by Marcy White

Delusional, psychotic;
Wrapped up in a lie....
Can you find the light at the end of the tunnel
Or will you never try?
Convince yourself we're wrong...
Convince yourself you're right
No matter what you say you'll do
You just can't help but cry
So cuddle up to yourself
And whisper your truth to the dark
Nobody else is listening
Especially not this broken heart
You killed me without trying
Now you're stepping on my grave
You think that you're the only one
Who's just pretending to be brave
So peddle your lies to those who'll listen
And swallow up your story
Our ears are burning now
While you get all the glory
You may have them fooled
But to those that really matter
This story's come to an end
Unhappily Ever After.

Dark, brooding with an underlay of "Gothic" pathos wrapped in excellence Marcy White.
