On It All by Jeffrey Parrenthey're just words
typed upon a keyboard
or written in ink
or
perhaps worse
written with pencil
to be erased
by the withering of the aged
or the magic eraser
these letters forming groups
gathering to mean something more
because alone they were nothing
these simple little strokes
curves and lines
connecting together
forming a path
to hopeful enlightenment
these festering thoughts
beg to be released
to be freed to mingle
usually without aim
but still finding their way
and in the end
it all stops
where it began
the loops that are
words
letters
symbols
dance on every moment
and as the music changes
so does the excitement
