So Say We All by Aaron BlairThis has all happened before
and it will happen again.
A body may give in,
but a soul will refuse,
fleeing to a new home
with flesh more easily persuaded.
We'll be looking with new eyes
but the sight hasn't changed.
It's dark as black and just as cold,
the places where we stumble,
making our mistakes while we can.
The past doesn't matter because
the past is gone. It evaporated.
Those who forget are doomed to relive.
As another body withers away,
the thing inside waits for the next,
having learned no lessons,
talented in its ability to discard. 03/15/2010 Author's Note: I wrote this while on vacation. Yeah, I don't get it either. Anyway, obviously inspired by Battlestar Galactica. At least it doesn't incorporate the word frak.
