THOSE TEARS

Dark times
I was on attack.
Made such mistakes.
Wish I could go back

To unsay and undo
What I said and did.
To resay and redo
Quickly close the lid.

I would cage that lion
There's no doubt.
Sheathe the claws
Tear those memories out.

I can't, though I would.
It's done now for years.
Doesn't matter what I could.
There are those tears.

I don't know if it's the psychoanalytic in me or what, but this poem makes me want to know more. But I suppose that's the beauty of a secret -
