Daydream Escape by Jeffrey ParrenI daydream escaped
the monotony of anticipation
as my first table
had yet to be sat.
Admiring the edges
and the curves alike
of the neighboring buildings
soon proved futile
with blurred visions
fading in and out
of past's events
already unfolded
and future's
possibilities.
The restaurant
and city around were abuzz
much like my mind
though my body
was ferociously still.
Perhaps I should dedicate
more time to daydreaming...
my poetry yearns to shout
while wondering such splendors. 03/23/2010 Posted on 03/23/2010 Copyright © 2024 Jeffrey Parren

Posted by George Hoerner on 03/23/10 at 01:12 PM From my perspective you are fortunate to work in one of my favorite cities. Oh yes, it has its down side but I used to love to walk the streets, the people and their movement. I'd stroll the stores and galleries. I could spend hours in a bookstore. One day I'll return and maybe look you up. |
