I wish I understood your words
so fancy and flowing, complex
I wish your meaning would come to me
like my dog does when he is hungry
begging to be understood, waiting
I wish they were as clear as saying
I hate you
I wish they
could make me feel like those 3
words do
as sharp as that knife you constantly
stick into my heart with your tongue
but no when your words come to me
they are covered in apologies they are sticky
sticky with letters too many letters
for me to understand
or maybe it is just the tears in my eyes
that make them blurry and hard to read
Yet I still wish I understood your words
your lengthy love poems written
while I am crying
in the dark
Maybe you should try shorter words
like love
I understand that one
do you?
