Angels Watch by Michael DefriesThe sound of ten million angels
Standing there in watch;
Oblivious to Satan, staring back.
Waiting to make his move;
They conspire to rid themselves;
His natural domain; brimstone decays
As sprouts grow on his rooftop.
Laughing at him, they watch.
Little known - is the accelerated war.
His demons wage in his stead.
Finding their way to capitalize on his
absence. Angels, thinking, this is it.
As war breaks-out, rumbles-of-fights
wake sleeping Giant-Buddhas-
from deep meditation;
They arise, and wait to see, who is
bringing it to their door; the uninvited;
get sent back; away with their spears.
Immortals blend time with spirits;
drinking, to the bliss they have created;
Watching angels on-high; they remark.
Is it the demons singing clouds of glory
as they send hell to-damnation;
or, the Buddhas who sit upon marbled,
Their chairs; domiciles for enchanted-
kings above all; forgetting to descend,
themselves, a fruit of forbidden hell;
In there palaces; the fire rotting their
heaven with Satan's fury; Perhaps
He joined them, on his vacay.
No less evil themselves; are they;
Watching down at the Hellions;
Calling themselves angels;
For demons, they are, and
Angels; demons in disguise,
drinking ambrosia tonic.
Tripping down immortals pens;
Memories of ancient ways
moving to meet present. 12/20/2009 Posted on 03/15/2010 Copyright © 2024 Michael Defries
