A Warning by Felicia AguilarIn the twilight of your eyes,
I see my reflection
naked flesh clad only in
invisible suits of armor.
I see everything that I
was meant to be,
everything that you
have ever wished
me to be:
a goddess,
your Venus,
unraveling before you
and giving you
momentary bliss.
But I am nothing more than
mere words and phrases,
trunks of secrets and broken
promises.
The violent beating
of my heart matches
the danger in your eyes,
as I let you
trail kisses and sweat
down the
arch of my back.
“I want you,” you whisper.
And I simply say:
Don’t.
