Arizona Skies by Kim Thevenoti recall a time when the magnetism wasn't so amplified
an electric current striving to be grounded
among a million reasons why up and down shouldn't matter
the replacement of denial is desire
creeping into my room
my oblivion wounded and broken
chasing away pieces of a conscience
i forgot about years ago
bruises turning blacker
arizona skies turning bluer
and the clocks ticking is becoming
too melodious, rhythmic, almost tantalizing
secrets scratching at the surface
of yet another, more obvious
mystery, giving answers and no questions.
i will not be taken advantage of. 01/01/2002 Posted on 03/07/2010 Copyright © 2024 Kim Thevenot

Posted by Coleman Demiurge on 03/10/10 at 02:57 AM "the replacement of denial is desire"... Hmm, that does makes sense, and explains why I always tend to be in a perpetual state of denial. Anyway, a brutal beauty of a poem; very haunting piece. I particularly liked the lines:- "chasing away pieces of a conscience i forgot about years ago"... Very well done. |
