I Hope You Read This

by Joan Serratelli

When I got on
the computer
I saw your name
I know you
are 200 miles away
and I know that
you no longer care

You've made that
clear;
but
I just don't get it

What did I do to
drive you away?
I will never know
Someday you will call
I will talk to you

I have to live
with the fact
that you no longer
care
My only question is:
WHY?

Author's Note: To my oldest daughter. You will never know how much your prolonged absence fron my life has cost me.

This is so sad. I only have one daughter and the thought of being emotionally estranged from her is terrible so my heart goes out to you. I hope you get the answer and better yet find a way to work through the solution.

Joan, I'm so sorry for your pain. I pray that someday she will know how much she's missing in your mother's love.

i have a friend of my family who's oldest child just took off for two years with no word. it was a very difficult and emotional time for them. I hope that someday peace will exist in your relationship with your daughter; and she will come back

...even our tears have tears when a thing like this occurs...so much correct therapy[words!] is needed for the two victims in this piece...you and she...i have only one daughter and i exist to her[whereas i used to be her Sir Galahad], and when we two don't get along, there is no other pain...i will bother to pray for you and the healing, the poet in this needs no prayers, she's doing quite fine as a writer.
