never in an entire lifetime
have words done that kind of damage.

when the dust settled upon the foundation,
there they stood with rubble and debris in their hands.

with all their eyes upon me
i said "go ahead, throw."
in my best bring-it-on-bitch voice.

each one of them drew their arm back
in preparation to fire at will.
their arms got as far as the back of their heads
and came to a halt
and their weapons trickled down from their grasps.

they looked at each other in bewilderment.

i smiled, turned to walk away and spoke...

"that's what i thought..."

...nan, this is a swaggeringly good descript-0 of a/the human condition...several cross-points of us in our stongest and us, also, in our weaknest...cool, balanced write, tho we tend to root for the underdog, of which...yada yada...
