Angels as Demons by Michael DefriesFor rich tumultuous cries heard; unleashed;
fury as rage, descends upon fallen angels
lost without radar, forever-spiraling down...
Wings folded back, in slick with restrained
bondage; slips an s&m pill up into resistant
caterpillars knotted as stomachs filled with silk.
These angels mightying-down; falling with
mozeltrot force, given grace of God's gravity
speed impending; as doom nearing, faster;
faster approaching cumulus with heaven;
They eat sparks of life with summer sausage
and sip wine with napkins tucked appropriately
under their arcane collars; halos brilliant as neon
seven-eleven signs, moving into the tempest hour.
It's God's fault, it is, descent with fallen; angels
as demons hidden; with wings tarnished; with
morbidity; as black as tar quick-sands them to us;
Earth has its protectorate again;
Mortality swallows them whole; | beyond this
flames of a thousand magmatic flows watch
crimson spill from opalescent breaches; white
wings deserving; but only when God allows. 02/24/2010 Posted on 02/24/2010 Copyright © 2024 Michael Defries
