Los osos soñolientos

by Eric Hinkle

Volverán los osos soñolientos
en sus cuervos, hibernación acabado.
y tienen hambre por los pechos
de pollo, lobo y lomo.

Pero los colores de los árboles, y flores,
y el rojo y amarillo de la salida de sol,
descolorar semejante nuestros caras.
ésas... ¡no volverán!

-----

The sleepy bears will arise
from their caves, hibernation over.
Hungry for the breasts
of chicken, wolf and lamb

But the colors of the trees, and flowers,
and the red and yellow of the sunset,
like our faces, fade.
These... never again!

Author's Note: I had to write a poem for my Spanish Lit class in Spain. It had to be based on the Adolfo Bécqer poem "Volverán las Oscuras Golondrinas." Mine is a joke. It doesn't translate well to English, either.
