we did not sit around discussing the scars on your arms for no reason
we did not look at the dying garden in your backyard just because we could
we were not ready for this
we were not ready to have a breakdown,
to have our foundation rattling,
to have our neighbors call the cops
no, we were probably never really meant to be here.
