there was no snow to see today,

it was cold

it was lonely

it was not Michigan or South Carolina

or any other state of joy



but at least this year i got cake.

If there's anyone who deserves snow on a birthday it's you. Such a wonderfully captured, quiet silence to this.

...ava, read the first 'balancing' secondly; i love the tack you take on either/both...life is itself and then it is itself loaded with other people, always...i love you take on this vis a vis the world and the other one vis a vis other people in our lives, i think it was Sartre who said Hell is Other People.
