time warp

by Kimberly Bare

it slipped through my fingers
all the small hellos
all the sunshine and innocence
and dress up clothes

the running and the shouting
that once grated my nerves
faded all too quickly
and silence takes it turn

the memories of laughter
and silliness are treasured
every time my teen drama queen
quips "oh, what-ever"
