In Beginnings

by Joe Cramer

There was a smile
That lit up the night
Bringing such light
All the while.

You had some fun
At my supposed chagrin.
Where does it begin,
Now that we've begun?

When I met you, I had to touch
You again, if just to hold you
For a moment, as I would do
Enjoying our time so very much.

All I could do was to laugh
At such silly attempts at mirth.
What was I thinking, on this earth,
At my faux paus, or even such a gaff?

I enjoyed the meeting,
Especially the time spent
Can't even tell where it all went
Once we passed the initial greeting!

When can I see you again?
When can we share a kiss?
It is your true heart taht I so miss,
Where do we now begin?
