Falling Into You...

by Michael Defries

Seems rare - like yellow diamonds at night, rippling in
The puddled reflection capturing the moment; surreal in-
Between waking-sleep you make like asteroid-dust vast

Spreads across as moves to sensual thoughts of silent passes
Unwhispered spoken with body language indicative of
Denial-states processing sensuousness; as foreign gates

Escape midnight walks, moving to coffee-cup lullabies
Of java-joes meandering metropolises over small-talk
While mending fractures in the fractals of our concrete.

We sit | walk | pass | through foyers of foliage villages
Pretending to sleep but recognizing the storm of our need
It's still early; so there's time to make the 9 o'clock train.

Press bodies firm into the hold of alarm snoozes, as waking
Intentions become like steam locomotives barreling down
Into asphalt blacktop while elevators reach the nadir.

It's the smell of lava pouring from kitchen pot coffees, as
Enticed by showering in the delights of subterranean prose
While the spoken word of silence acts as graffiti on our minds.

Moving to the want -of laying close- while backs turned
Facing walls into valley of the away, hidden rivers felt-out
As you find your way to my pen-spoils, moving to kiss you.

It's the timeless moments like a bird song reaches the mantle
That reverberate slow in the halls like passing silence and move
To eternity immortalized; there is no-thing that I do not know.
