Brand new hardware

by Richard Colinson

I screwed you together, I pressed
The willing sata cable
Into the tight fitting folds
Of your hard drive's connector

I tore off
Those awkard backing plates
With a firm thumb pushed down
Your graphics card

And you juddered
As it slotted home

You let me unbutton
Your drivebays
And tickle into place
Your optical drive

Then you were ready
I picked you up
Sat you down on my desk
Plugged in your peripherals
And pressed your button

Held my breath as you
POSTed
Then booted
Into wonderful life
Responding to the merest flick
From my fingers

My brand new hardware
