things in a day by Charlie Morganit was late in my life when i learned
i was a Wurlitzer Jukebox, model 1015;
i stand as an icon to those also in storage.
a cold day in February; not strange.
and it may rain.
possibilities are endless; Sun could shine;
temp: 30s, could be high as in the 70s.
i open my night-stand drawer;
put on my chosen face for-the-day;
one this time that Eleanor didn't use,
this one is for me and only me.
i adjusted my coat for the day.
several folks were bent over,
helping some other folks;
seems they're shifting blame.
saw two lovers; she had her heart in her hand,
juggling her soul with it;
she's at the disappearing point;
feels it but doesn't see it.
so far, i've only breathed today's air;
i've put tomorrow's in cold storage;
i'll breathe tomorrow's then.

| Posted by Therese Elaine on 02/09/10 at 10:58 PM God Charlie...just amazing...and the jukebox image is a fantastic one to choose, and the face in the drawer even more so, and I'm just blown away by all the things that stick out and call to me that I can't even cover them all!!! |
