"Captain Who?" by Max PhineasFeeling belittled by my
Delusions of grandeur, I
tied on a cape
for my nine-to-five.
Ridding the Earth of evil
Scum from the bottom
of defenseless citizens'
septic tanks.
With puffed-out chest
I bravely go where few dare
To stay and smell.
Because Captain Planet
Wants your drinking water clean
But guess who he calls when his pure orations
Can't sanitize the toxic green
that lurks below
before I show
Up to the task
On with the mask
So you may drink
Clear liquid with
Clear conscience. 02/08/2010 Posted on 02/08/2010 Copyright © 2024 Max Phineas

Posted by George Hoerner on 02/08/10 at 01:46 PM Cute write Max. We all wear a mask from time to time but all too many wear one most of the time. As for the cape, mine is now kept in the closet. When my wife finds it I know I'll be asked to do an otherwise impossible task. |
