i Open Fields And Kisses

by Michael Defries

Ever stand in the middle
of open fields, and watch
the floating-cotton fuzz
fall-off dandelion stars

Hoping to be one of the lilacs
or the poppies shadows-brilliant
with green shades growing tall
up tiny backs of stems so long

Reaching into forever this dream
wandering like the dandelion fur
moving beyond reach of infinite
Touching this finite affinity

Speaking with tongues of color and
waking to sunshine hugs, and hands
pressed together likes monks in
twilight hours smiling with om.

This field with puffed cloud skies
sifting through gold rays like falls,
waving slowly, as wind pretends
to giggle like small winged beings

Temperatures soft - like warm comfort
moving radiant streams of ambiance
into daylight walks in open fields
like the ones we use to go on.
