Refusing To Write Another Poem About Spring

by Richard Davis

I’ve written too much about the frills of spring.
I hear those daffodils whisper in my garden,
“Aren’t we beautiful enough for your poem?”
That robin singing so shamelessly just
to be heard by me. That cunning Caruso
of spring will not get my attention!
Yes I noticed that blooming dogwood
by the town hall and its sunlit blossoms...
No! I have nothing to say about it!

Hah -nice! And I am so happy you mentioned Caruso -one of my favourites, and nowhere near as appreciated anymore, as much as he deserves to be!
