Days come and days go,
the tides that turn.
Here I come, there I go,
the world that burns.

Lives come and lives go,
the heart that yearns.
Death comes and death goes,
the heart that learns.

Peace comes and peace goes,
the peace that didn't occur.
Battle comes and battle goes,
and the line begins to blur.

Can you taste the war
coming to you live from the streets?
Can you taste your mortality
coming to you fast on swift feet?
Can you stop this fire
eating away at all you hold dear?
A clash of gunpowder empires
feeding on everything that you fear?

Lies come and lies go,
the mouth that speaks.
Truths come and truths go,
the shit that reeks.

Leaders come and leaders go,
the policies don't change.
Apathy comes and apathy goes,
heroes killed on the firing range.

Words come and words go,
the type that get beneath the fur.
Sides come and sides go,
but the line begins to blur.

Can you feel the hate
bring pain, misery, agony and woe?
Can you feel your fate
you reap what you sow?
Can you hear the bombs
from beneath your shelters of stone?
A struggle of gunpowder empires
fighting for scraps off the last bone?

Demise is just a word
but we all begin to pray.
Fear is all we know now
as the machine guns begin to bray.
Steel is just a feeling
that cuts into the skin.
Blood leaking from our souls
bleeding out all from within.
