Time shadows by Keith D AllisonRibbons flow in the sunlight squealing
box unopened
hedges in the garden
Sweet in the maze of life
Will the water flow
or will the earth cover the pain
The grave
writes the last page
some spirit in the wall
defining the memories with courage
finding the breath in the step
till the call

Posted by V. Blake on 02/01/10 at 05:43 PM You've got a bit of a typo ("will the dirt covered") in the last line of the first stanza right now, but that is certainly the worst thing to be said of this excellent poem. |
Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 02/26/10 at 08:37 PM "Sweet in the maze of life", I find that wonderful and optimistic...for it can be. All these ages are alike, for the goal of a maze is to lose your way, whereas the goal of a labyrinth is to find it. Excellent poetics! Thanks.
