training

by Angela Thomas

we lay silent
i stress
try to make
my body work
sweat trickles
down my neck
your hands
i close
my eyes
yours fixated
on me
i go deeper
transcending the
time the space
that separates
our beet red
lips closing
the gap
i open my eyes
you ask if i'm
alright
fine
we lay silent
i stress
try to make
my heart stop

It's amazing what you managed to pack into such a succinct piece of writing, Angela -I almost tried to hold my own breath and I could almost feel the sweat and the anticipation and the intensity -well done!
