Janus by Rachel Bennett"catch you later" he sneered,
as he smiled silencers
and dangled daggers
(of poisoned hope).
and when he turned around,
I swear I could see a second grin
winking beneath his scalp.
and the sad part-
bound by embarrassment
I had to beam the ball,
whistling and orbiting,
to his court. 01/29/2010 Author's Note: Poemuary Entry #29. Scrambled a little for this one.

Posted by Therese Elaine on 01/30/10 at 05:18 AM For some reason I had flashbacks to gym class...and that real jerk of a teacher that loved making us do track and field in 110 degree weather...yeah -it creeped me out -but then, Janus was a rather creepy figure so the title is perfect for the piece...if I haven't mentioned it, I'm really sad that soon you and Vince won't be forced to post a poem every day -I'm going to miss it!! |
